Meet Harper lee
Harper Lee, the famous American writer and the author of To Kill A Mockingbird, was born in Alabama in 1926. Lee went on to college at University of Alabama and she was late an exchange student to Oxford University. When she moved to New York to pursue her literary career, Lee worked as an Airline reservation clerk. She was 34 when she published her first and only novel. To Kill A Mockingbird was actually somewhat related to her life. Finch was her mother's maiden name and Dill was based off of her childhood friend, Truman Capote. Even though Lee gained lots of fame from her first novel, she did not continue to write more. She even avoided interviews with the press.
